The Truth About Fear

Fear is a mechanism for control, it can be very dangerous, and is effective when people let their fears master them. I fear for people who choose to stay blind and ignorant. I fear for people who choose to stay boxed in and do not realize their own worth. They are manipulated, used, and miss out on truly being able to live and be free. I fear the reality that things can make a turn for the worst.

But I no longer let this fear conquer me. I realize that there will always be bad things and people who do bad things in the world, and there is nothing I can do about that. Although this is true, it does not control me. It does not control my life. It impacts my life, but I choose not to let it define who I am and what I do. It is the exact same for you.

Our fears are not the most important thing in our lives. Our family, friends, dreams, hopes, kindness, goodness, and love are among the many important things in our lives. These things are much stronger than fear. You just have to face it. It is not always an easy feat to face your fears, but it can be done when you put in the work. Fear is a choice. You can always overcome it.

You First

Society tells us that thinking of and putting yourself first is bad. That it is selfish. Society is wrong. It is imperative that you take care of yourself and take care of yourself first. When you are at your best you can help others effectively and efficiently at your greatest capacity. Self care is and should always be a priority. It not only benefits you, but it benefits everyone around you when you’re able to be the best you can be. Maybe we don’t have our whole lives figured out, but we can still help guide each other as we go through and experience things ourselves.

The point is, help yourself so that you can fully help others, and if you’re on the same level as your neighbor, help them up while you get yourself up too. I know not every neighbor is trustworthy, but if you truly feel like they are and they need the help, help them. No one can stop you from being your best. You have the power to make or break yourself. Build yourself, encourage yourself, further educate, explore, free yourself. Free yourself from letting others determine and define who you are, what you do, where you go, how you do things, and when you do things. You control all of that.

Take care of number one, then share that caring with your fellow man. We are all going through life and need some help. At one point or another, someone helped you, so pay it forward.
Why be good when you can be great?!

Quote of the day!

                A Precious Human Life
             H.H. The XIVth Dalai Lama

“Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it, I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, I am going to have kind thoughts toward others, I am not going to get angry, or think badly about others, I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

*this is the exact quote. There are grammatical errors, but the point is the message.

Leap of Faith

“Nothing works unless you do.” – Dr. Maya Angelou

I’ve always had the dream of inspiring and encouraging people and this is my chance. In order to be a blessing to others, you have to put in your share of hard work. I haven’t committed to doing what I needed to do to make it work until recently. So if I can make that leap of faith to do something that I dream of and make it reality, you can to. Be great. Greatness lies within you.
Do work!
