Stand Fast

“When cloudless skies thunder, stand fast.”
        – Phaedra, from the film Immortals

There are not always clouds to be seen. There are silent and deadly storms that can not be detected that sweep into our lives and test us. Through the storms, whether we see then coming or not, we must always do our very best to stand fast. Do not be troubled by dangerous and hard times, the rain and mud are there to help. Whether we let it or not is the challenge. Stand fast. You have complete control. If you fall, get up. No matter how dirty or messy the journey gets, do your best, do what’s right, remember that you are not alone, and keep trekking forward. Don’t stop, for anyone or anything. Take a break when you need to, but keep moving. Pace yourself. You’ve got this. You can make it. I believe in you. Know for yourself that you can do it. You can make it through anything. Believe in yourself.

Life is change, in the reality of human beings and in nature. Things are always different, the sky, the position of the sun and moon in the sky, the lives of sea and land animals, in our lives. Mistakes are made and there is nothing wrong with that. What’s important is to adapt, make the best of our situations, and learn from change and mistakes.

No More Silence

Life will never be good enough if all we are is a bunch of feuding people who share a limited amount of space for the length of our short lives. This blatant hatred and cruelty people are giving to others they don’t know or understand is a shame. We let the ignorant, judgmental, and close-minded people speak, but those who have a voice to raise and help the innocent victims of senseless crimes remain silent. Why?

Things will never be better if we continue to allow these horrible injustices to happen. The way that society is, is that they don’t care until it directly affects them, and then they want to pull out all the stops to save and “defend” themselves. Don’t be a part of a cruel and ruthless society, be a part of the human race, a race of being’s that are kind and loving, caring and giving toward each other. All this turmoil, war, and pain will not cease on its own. We, as people, human beings, decent and good need to stand up for what is right. We need to defend what is right.

What many people forget and refuse to see is that what’s done to those who endure terrible situations, will more likely than not happen to you becaue you allow it to happen to others. We have to look out for one another. We have to have each others backs. We have to stand firm and together in times of trouble. We need to help our fellow man. As a society and the human race, we need to look past the surface, past selfishness, past race, past culture, past sexual orientation, we need to see each other for who truly we are. These things are just the surface, your race, your culture, they are a part of you, but they are not all that you are. You are an everlasting, beautiful universe that exists in this precious life.

We must come together. If we don’t, things will only continue to get worse and worse. Do we really want that? Do we really want our future generations to be put into an even darker, filthier, more terrifying black hole because we put them there. Because we can’t get our shit together and let go of all these petty things we think are important? We are here because of our past generations refusal to let the yokes of old hatred go. What will this generation do? Will we make it worse? Or will we make the world a better place than when we came into? Just know, you have to live here and deal with these problems too. You may not be affected in the same ways others are, but you are being affected none-the-less. For better or worse, that’s up to you. We can make things right or we can make them worse. We each have to make our choice.

Mature, DON’T Grow Up

Love is more than a choice, it is a state and way of being. When you become love, you are whole. We all come into this world as love, as we grow and learn, many of us lose pieces of that wholeness, that fullness of being in and of love because of what we’re taught, the things that influence us, and eventually the things and people we let influence us. And that’s okay, that’s life, it happens to us all. It’s just that we have to find our way back to where we started.

As kids and children, we are always having a good time, enjoying ourselves and the things and people around us, having fun, and being ourselves. We accept ourselves the way we are and everyone around us as they are. Kids are truthful and honest, for the most part anyway. When we are kids, we are whole, we are full of love, happiness, excitement, everything we need. That’s why I believe in the saying “don’t grow up, it’s a trap”. Adults teach us how to grow up, they teach us eveything we know. The problem with that is that many adults don’t know happiness like they should because they were taught and brought up to fit into a box that their parents made for them. Most adults lose their sense of fun, happiness, love, adventure, hope, their sense of life, things essential to being truly alive and free. Well, I think it’s time to change that.

It is more than okay to be and do what you want. Not what your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, god-parents, or any other person thinks you should do. They don’t know all of what makes you happy, they don’t know what all lights that beautiful fire inside of you. Follow your heart. Follow your dreams. As long as you have breath in you, you have the chance to be yourself, to live the life you want for yourself. Mature, don’t grow up. Growing up means ignoring the things that make you you and giving in to the system that was made to keep you down and controlled. Don’t give in. Becoming mature means that you learn the lessons life has for you, you use those lessons to help better yourself and others as you go through life, and you still keep that same enthusiasm and love for life as you did when you were a kid.

You have every right and reason to be open and free. Be yourself. Love yourself. Live your life. Love your life. Love life. Love. It’s time to take your life into your own hands.
