Do what you have to do.
Everyone, everyone, has to go through a time period, may it be short or long, in their life where you have to do what you don’t want to do to get to the point where you can. It is the story of every successful, happy, fulfilled person. They go through a time where they are tired, complaining, and not enjoying where they are or what they’re doing. But they pushed on, they kept moving, they made a way through it, they found their motivation to continue until their big moment/opportunity came and they seized it. Being a young adult I understand this now. I understand that this phase that I’m in is a part of life and it is not a terrible, horrible, end-of-my-life situation. It’s temporary.
This is a major time period in life that makes and breaks people. This is the time period where a person decides that what they’re doing is a stepping stone to move farther in life and better themselves, or, this is a time where people decided ‘I’m gonna do what I have to do until I have an exact plan and then I’ll do whatever comes to me or whatever my initial plan is.’ The latter is the reason people are where they are now in miserable lives filled with regret and sadness. They have the ‘i’ll do it later’ minset. That’s never a good mindset to have.
You have to take the initiative to do what you need to do. Even if you don’t know exactly where you wanna be, be smart and think logically about what you can do to get to where you wanna be. Do something you at the very least like until you figure out what you love. Make your way doing that, that way when you finally do get to a point where you can do what you love, you will have the capacity and capability to do it. You have to have a logical, smart, general plan as well as a positive, can do mindset and attitude. It’s not always easy. So what. That’s life. It’s not always gonna be hard just because it’s hard right now. We’ve got to get over ourselves, think about, and see the bigger picture. We have to see the outcome and focus on what is truly essential to enjoy and make it through at this moment.
So, our main points are:
1. At some point you’re going to have to do something you don’t totally enjoy or love.
2. You have to get over that fact and persevere anyway.
3.You need to see the bigger picture and focus on what is truly essential.
4. You need to have a logical, smart, general plan. By “general plan” I mean an idea of where you want to be and how you want to live.
5. You have to have a positive, can do mindset and attitude.
6. You can achieve anything you truly want to achieve. You just have to make the choice to do so and follow through.
A happy, fulfilled, enjoyable life takes some work. Do the work and you won’t regret it.
