Live Now

Do not let the stagnant, stifling, limiting, one track lifestyle of society or any other person than yourself keep you from living your life. We sacrifice, give up, and abandon the things that make us feel alive and light the fire inside of us to please others who do not care about us to begin with. No longer. Take back your life. Follow your heart, do what you love, find what sparks your fire, embrace those who see, accept, and love you for who you truly are. Stop sabotaging yourself for the sake of others. You are worth far more than that. You deserve the best and if you are not getting it, get up and go get it for yourself.

For far too long have we belittled, undervalued, and underestimated ourselves. For far too long we have torn ourselves apart and been stomped on and over for and by others. No more. No more. You are alive. You are here. Be present. Take a step back and realize where you are, look at who you are, and see what is right in front of you. No matter your situation or circumstance, as long as you are breathing you have the chance and opportunity to live, to explore, to experience, to love, and be loved. Take it. Use this moment. Stop sitting by and watching your life trudge by you hour after long hour of doing what you hate, day after day of suffering needlessly. There is already enough struggle and pain in living. There is no reason to add to it unnecessarily.

Stop preparing to do and just do. Create what you want, get what you want, and do not stop working for it until it is yours. Life is about learning and growing. Do that. Mess up, learn, do better. Fall, learn, get up. Take two steps back, fight your way three steps forward. Never stop. Never stop moving, and learning, and growing, and experiencing, and loving. You are here, and because you are here you owe yourself the chance to live. Grab it. Start now.

The outcome of all situations are dependent upon how you react. They are dependent upon how you handle the situation. Depending on your response and emotions, or lack thereof, a situation can be better or worse. Things are going to happen to you, both bad and good, you just have to learn how to control your emotions and reactions. You can overcome anything. Take control.

You Are That Somebody

I used to wonder the same thing, then years later came to this same realization. We are the answers to our own problems. There is something that each of us sees and wonders why no one does something about that, or does a better job at that something. We can make whatever that situation is right, or at least do our part to try to make it better. We can’t fix what we’re not willing to work for. A favorite environmental activist of mine, Madison Stewart, aka Shark Girl, once said “We define who we are, when we define what we’re willing to fight for.” And she is so right. We have to be willing to do the work to make things better and pursue our dreams. We have to work and sacrifice to get what we want. When we do that, we make a difference in the world for the better and we define ourselves through our actions. We choose how we are defined in a small part of what we say, but mostly in what we do and how we do it. We have to have intention. We have to know and see, at some point, the direction in which we want to go. We have to choose a path. And we have to remember that all solutions are found within us. We simply have to look within to find the answers we’re searching for. So know, embrace, and love yourself. You are key, you are the answer, you are that somebody; that somebody to change the world, that somebody to make a difference.

The Solution: Acknowledge, Accept, Love

There is cause and effect. A problem and a solution. We have an abundance of issues that need to be solved at all times, but we have a significant amount at this present time. And we seem to like focusing on the wrong things. We spend way too much time being upset about the situation and forgetting to do something about the situation. What we need to do is focus on the solution and enforce it. In this specific case, we need the solution to all of us coming together and making this world a better place.

Here is the solution: We start treating each other better, ackowledging, accepting, representing authentically, and above all, loving one another for who we are as people and living beings. We start showing kindess, care, and respect for one another. We start honoring each other. We start recognizing one another for whatever it is that an individual or group of individuals is succeeding greatly at no matter their race, culture, religion, sexuality, sexual orientation, age, or gender. Those things are a part of who we each are, but they do not define us. We’ve got to start thinking for ourselves, questioning things, and coming to our own conclusions with open hearts, open minds, and the willingness to work, help, and learn from and with one another. It is time to enter an Era of universal acknowledgement, acceptance, and love. We are all special and each have something amazing to give this world and we all deserve the chance to have every privilege and opportunity to live, experience, and enjoy everything this beautiful life and world has to offer; as well as what we each have to offer.

No matter what, we all deserve the best and can have it. It’s simply a matter of us coming together and making things better. Let those with their negativity, close-mindedness, small-mindedness, judgments, hatred, and limitations be left to their own devices. They will try to stop those of us who oppose them; we need not be afraid or falter. When we come together as one, we are mighty and we are victorious. They can not stop us. The thing that they can never ever take from us, the thing that they can never stop, is our love. That is exactly what we are giving and sharing, and how we are going to change the world for the better. So my friends, let us love. Love freely, love truly, love genuinely.

Embrace It

Universal Truth: We all have our small differences, things that make us individuals and unique, but when it comes to down to the basics, what we’re made of, our potential, and what we’re born with, we are all the same.

Contrary to what society and many parents and grandparents have taught us for centuries, different does not mean seperate. We are one people, in one world, with this present chance to live, love, be, and experience life. Embrace all that is you. Love it all. You are enough. Embrace all of the beauty around you, people, the Earth, animals. Take care. Be mindful, of yourself and others. Keep an open mind. Do not be quick to judge. Listen, take the time and be kind enough to actually hear people out. Before you try to get an attitude, be mad at, or hurt someone as revenge or payback (which you absolutely shouldn’t), listen to them. Everyone has a story, everyone comes from somewhere, everyone has feelings. Many of us (if not, most of us) are not as in touch with ourselves as we should be, change that. Know yourself.

A truth I’ve come to realize is that we have the audacity to hold others to standards we don’t hold our own selves to. We have no right to judge, begrudge, or hate others when they wrong us when we won’t and don’t even give them the chance to be and do what they can and what we want from them. Love is a two way street. Don’t continuously expect what you won’t and don’t give. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Communication is key. Real communication, as in taking the time to truly try and understand others, who they are, their thoughts and behavior. No one is perfect, we are constantly growing and changing. Remember that.

Expect The Unexpected

One absolute constant in life is change. The sooner we accept this, the better off we are. We should do our best to plan and prepare for certain situations and circumstances but there will always be something or someone that comes out of the blue, takes you by surprise, or switches things up. We must not get attached to having things work out or happen a specific way. Everything and everyone is subject to change. That should always be taken into consideration, in life as a whole. Dreams can change, and dreams stay the same but can change courses to the same destination. The point is, do not be so set on specific details of how you want things to happen in life. It may happen and it may not. Do not let your emotions be attached and dependent upon these things. Just keep your goals and aspirations in mind and work towards them putting forth the best effort that you can. Things will work out.
