Consumer Awraeness

(Repost from Pinterest)

As consumers, there are things we need and things we don’t need. There are things that some of us have the privilege of having the option to enjoy and we should be mindful of these things. Now, more than ever, we need to be mindful and actively aware of what it is we are purchasing. We need to know how the things we use are made, where, what it’s made of, if it’s environment and animal friendly, at what cost morally and ethically it is being made, and if it is, in fact, being made morally and ethically.

All each of us has to have is what we need, no more, no less. Of course there are exceptions and it’s always cool to splurge, but do so with awareness and mindfully. We are where we are now as a whole because of greed and excess. It’s time to do better. Know where your things are coming from and make sure that they are safe products that do no harm. There are so many healthy, natural products, brands, and businesses out there that we can utilize. Support local businesses and start buying local, go to specialty places for certain things rather than going the one-stop-shop commercial route.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes you need a one-stop-shop, but a lot of those places are not moral and ethical anymore and we really need to get behind and support places and people that do things a better and more genuine way. Support businesses and people that stand for something good and positive. We’ve gotten away from this as a society in the last 30 to 40 years. Things used to be based on morals, ethics, doing things the right way, taking care of people, and mindfully making products; not so much anymore, but we can change that. Let’s go back to those days of authenticity and genuine care for what we buy, where we buy, how we buy, and from whom we buy.

The system that we currently have is not set up to help and benefit us as it should, so it’s difficult to be able to afford things that are healthier and better for us sometimes. Let’s do what we can, where we can, how we can, when you can. How you shop, where you shop, and what you shop for matters, immensely. Let’s take matters into our own hands and stand together to do and be better for ourselves and for all. It’s time that we put our action where our hearts are. Let’s lead and live by example.

I Am Enough

Repeat this to yourself everyday, and especially when you really need to. Marisa Peer made this exercise and I am grateful to have it and wanted to share it with you.

Say: “I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough. I am enough.

Say it, believe it.

You are enough.

You are enough. YOU are enough.

You are enough. You ARE enough.

You are enough. You are ENOUGH.

YOU. ARE. ENOUGH.

Awaken

Being content with yourself is a journey. It takes constant energy and attention everyday. And it’s quite the feat. Being content, let alone realizing that you already are and have everything you need and letting that be, is a process.

Most of us have learned to beat ourselves up and make ourselves suffer more than necessary through the cycle of our parents and ancestors far back trying to make us in their image rather than just letting us be as we are and learn in our own time and ways as we go.  It is no one’s fault that that became the norm, we can only start with what we’re given after all, but it is on us if we realize the issue and do nothing to better it. A lot of us have come to open up and see the breaks and cracks within ourselves and lives and the way society works; it is now up to us to heal, do, and be better, for ourselves firstly and for future generations.

The important thing to remember is that this, this journey, is yours, it is for you. You owe no one. No one. Not your family, friends, peers, colleagues, boss, no one. This is life. This is the chance you have right now to live, to be, to explore, to experience. Since the industrial age began we’ve come to this space in which having a job and working ourselves to death for money to get by for the few in power is the way of life and the way of the world. Forget that. That is not life nor the purpose of life.

We have to know ourselves, our worth, what we do and do not deserve. We have to go back to the time of knowing and living our truths. We have to remember the true purpose of life, to live and experience, to love and be loved, to enjoy and savor. Long ago, we lived with the Earth and her creatures, we respected everyone and everything. We’ve never been societies definition of perfect, which does not matter anyway, at all, in any shape, form, or fashion; but we lived according to our personal flow and connected spiritually with each other, all given to us, and life as a whole. It is time we return.

In this day in time, we are experiencing something that has not been done in a long time, not in this way, and not to this degree. We are experiencing personal freedom, true unity, and genuine acceptance. It is alarming and foreign to many of the older generation, save the few who are and were awake the whole time or eventually became aware, though it is beginning to spread like wildfire. It is the balance of life. For too long has separatism, hatefulness, greed, and willful blindness run rampant. We are entering a new era of peace, unity, acceptance, care, kindness, goodness, justice, honesty, truthfulness, consciousness, self-awareness, self-care, self-acceptance, self-love, and pure joy.

The point is, begin your process. Begin and live your personal journey. Start and don’t stop for anything or anyone. When you make a mistake, acknowledge it, accept it, do your best to be and do better, and if you’ve hurt someone, apologize, mean it, and make a concerted effort to not make the same mistake. Do not beat yourself up, even if you do make the same mistake repeatedly and in general. It does no good and helps neither yourself or others to prolong and worsen your suffering. We all have to go through   trials and obstacles, we all have to hurt and feel pain because it is a part of life and contributes to making life the beautiful, insane experience that it is. It is necessary just like good times, simple times, and enjoyable times.

Repeat this as necessary: “I am not my thoughts, emotions, sense perceptions, and experiences. I am not the content of my life, I am Life, I am the space in which all things happen. I am consciousness. I am the Now. I Am.”* I am not my body, other peoples expectations, other peoples wants, other peoples judgments or opinions. I am what, who, and how I choose to be. I am that I Am.

You are a beautiful, unique, special, incredible, wonderful being. You are not from this life, you are just visiting for a while. Enjoy your experience here. This is all temporary. Make the most of this moment. Show up and do your best, that is all that is required. You have to care and you have to try, continuously. Nothing is certain and you can not be given what you already have. Use your focus, will, power, grit, perseverance, and love to guide you. You are a free spirit that cannot be contained. You are a light that can never be dimmed by another. The only thing standing in your way is you. Find a way or make a way. Flow and grow. You are love, so be it.

*Quote from Eckhart Tolle

What I’m Learning

Life is a journey in which nothing is meant to be held onto, except Love and Light. Good and Evil have their respective parts in each of our journeys, but what really matters is what we do, how we handle things, and our perspective.

The way to go is to let life flow. Enjoy what you can while you have it when you have it, and do your best to learn and grow through darker times. Everything is a process, and struggle is a part of the story. The key is to just go with it.

Do not let yourself get attached to anything and revere everything as the wonderous gift that it is. Fear will come and go, doubt, pain, anger, sadness, hurt will all make their regular appearances. But do not dwell in any of them.

The past is a treacherous place to dwell. Do not hold on to it. Let it go. Learn what you can then move on and be better. Nothing good comes from staying stagnant in one place.

And an imperative lesson, always be on the learning curve. Always aim to grow from and through everything. It is better and far more helpful to choose Love and Light. It can only ever work out for your good.

Hope, do not despair.

Think for yourself, be creative, use your imagination.

Grow through what you go through. (VERY IMPORTANT)

Take the world as it is and work toward how you want it to be.

                                       ACT.

Actions matter most in this life. What you choose to do means everything. And there are consequences to everything. Be mindful of what you do and how you do it.

And especially, learn to master forgiveness. Forgiveness is freedom. Freedom from the past and unnecessary suffering. It excuses nothing but allows you to not be bound by he past and the darkness. But in some cases, darkness is meant to take hold for us to learn and grow. It’s all about perception and discernment. Use them wisely and remember to not get stuck on the dark places.

The Essentials

“I focus on what is truly essential”, an affirmation I have written within a list on my vision board. At the beginning, middle, and end of every unpromised day that you see, what truly matters?

Actions and Effort.

It all comes down to what you did and did you do your best, for yourself and others. That is the main and base focus of life. You’re here to visit for a while and experience life. So next time you start stressing, and better yet, before that even happens, always keep in mind the true essentials of life. Do what you love, pursue your passions, be grateful and thankful, do your best, and never give up, ever. You gotta keep on keepin’ on. This life can be tough and things can get rough but it’s all in how you handle it. Always be on the learning curve and continually grow.

What I Love | Poem

Do you know what I love?

I love seeing myself in others. I love spotting all the tiny similarities and likenesses, the ways in which I am just like others around me, others I do not personally know.

Do you know what I love?

The differences I see from myself and others. Others don’t love like me, they don’t feel like me, they don’t think like me, they don’t express like me, nor I like them.

Do you know what I love?

I love the tiny, little moments and bursts of happiness that I feel when I see something that stirs my soul, that moves my creativity, that sparks my inner fire.

Do you know what I love?

I love that I experience all these things. It’s euphoric, this feeling. It’s like small fireworks. We each are different colored sparks, in different shapes, in different sizes, from different packages, but we’re all connected and made together. We are all the same in that we are all fireworks. We are beautiful individually and spectacular when we all go off together.

I love me. I love us.

This Moment

“Do not be concerned about the future; keep your attention on today, and stay in the present moment. Just live one day at a time.-”

                          – Don Miguel Ruiz
This is so important to remember. Now is all that exists, now is all that matters. Stay in this moment, be here. When you mess up, own it, get up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward. When things are good, enjoy it, savor it, appreciate it. Learn, grow, build, experience, enjoy, love, do. This moment is all we have, take hold of it. No matter your situation or circumstances you can live and be as you wish. You simply have to take the reins of your own life and put in the work to be yourself, love yourself, and take care of yourself. You’ve got this. Believe in you.
