The Answer

Other people are not our enemy. Hate, Fear, Negativity, Doubt, Seperation, and Ignorance are the names that our enemy goes by. We must not forget that these are the ones that destroy our relationships, with ourselves and others. These are the ones that make life more difficult than necessary. These are the ones that kill, steal, and destroy. It is these we must combat at all times.

People will always be subject to one of these. That is why we must equip ourselves with the means and knowledge to overcome and conquer them. It is through Kindness, Compassion, Unity, Understanding, Patience, Calm, Goodness, Light, Good Vibes, Good Energy, Empathy, Love, and Service that we become victorious over the enemy. We will lose battles, but we win the war.

We are the answer to our own problems. It is through each of us that we grow and better life and the world. It is through personal relationship that we grow and better life and the world. Do what you love, love yourself, love others, be grateful, be kind, do good, listen to yourself, listen to others, believe in yourself, believe in others. When we are connected and happy with ourselves our connection to all else grows and strengthens.

All it takes in life is the courage and bravery to take the necessary risks to truly and genuinely live. To live for ourselves and do for ourselves which in turn benefits everyone and everything around us. When love is the focus and the way, we never lose. When all of our experiences become lessons that we grow through and from, we never lose. When peace, action, empathy, unity, understanding, and love lead, we all win.

Even those that subscribe and succumb to the hate, fear, negativity, doubt, separation, and ignorance will benefit from our love and our power because that’s what love does. It betters everyone and everything. When love abides there is always room and time for change. Real change. All it takes is you. Be ready and willing to actively work, continuously, on yourself and do what you love.

When we are each doing our part and moving forward together,  nothing and no one can stop us. Let us rise up, in Love, together. Let us move forward and grow, together. Let us usher in a new era of goodness, kindness, creativity, unity, compassion, empathy, understanding, and Love. We can do this. It has already begun. It’s never too late to choose Love. Choose Love, today and every day.

The Link in the Equation

” – but our countries are counting on us to miss the link… they are painting the enemy foreign and selling the product domestic… so let this build your anger for the depletion of our oceans, but make sure your anger goes to the right recipient.”

– Madison Stewart (aka Shark Girl)

This is the truth and the key to taking back our power as the people. We have to realize, acknowledge, and accept the atrocities and the depth of the atrocities we and our governments create. We have to first realize that what is happening is wrong and then that we continue it and normalize it every single day by our continued participation. The power lies with us.

We are the ones who fuel our oppressors. We are the ones who do the work for them and make their wrong doings possible, through willful blindness and fearful compliance. We can no longer exist under these circumstances; especially when we do not have to. We are under no obligation to add to our own suffering. And the only way to change things is to take radical action.

People were made to be afraid of that word. It is a powerful one, because when we become radical, things get done, things change. We have to start putting our best interest first instead of the oppressors. Anger is a useful tool if applied in the right way and mindset. It can be used to fuel good, creative, universal change, which is much needed right now.

In life, there are very few requirements in the grand scheme of things, and the #1 requirement is that you show up. You have to show up, for yourself and others. You have to act and take things into your own hands. You make the difference between war and peace, justice and injustice, hope and despair, right and wrong. You are the link that creates the world around you.

Your inaction is just as vital, and more in some cases, as your action. Your choices truly do matter. You truly do matter. Your life and presence here in this world, at this moment in time make ALL the difference. You’ve got to be willing to take charge of your own life, see things as they are, and do what you can to be a positive and helpful force during your journey here.
“- the world does not need people who hope for change right now, it needs people who will fight for it.”   – Madison Stewart

Life Lesson

Dealing with your own pain is hard enough, but dealing with that of someone else, especially someone you care for and love deeply, is a whole other thing all together.

You can’t fight someone in their struggle, let alone about their struggle. They have to heal in their own way, in their own time. All you can do is be present for them, patient, understanding, honest, truthful, supportive, and loving. It’s not a walk in the park. Seeing another suffer is one of the absolute worst things that we have to deal with as humans. But it happens. And we have to be there for people in their struggle. They have to deal and we need to be there for them. Because though their struggle affects us, it’s not about us, it’s about them. Remember that. We all have to learn.

Truth: Jesse Williams

I fully support and agree with Jesse Williams’ speech. This post is in regard to people “opposing” the truths of what he said.

As it relates to Race & Culture and the hardships and negativity that POC (person/people of color, i.e. anyone who’s not white) have, there are 4 truths:

1) If you live in America and are a POC, your race/culture has had to deal with oppression, discrimination, rasicm, classism, and negativity on some level.

2) We (POC) suffer in different ways, to different degrees. Yes, we have suffered in some of the same ways and that is something that we have that connects us in a very potent and unfortunate way. Yet it remains true that not all suffering is the same. It does not take away from, demean, or dismiss the suffering of others, it’s just a truth that there are different degrees to it, as there are many things in life.

3) Someone acknowledging the hardships of their own race/culture does not take away from, demean, forget, or dismiss the hardships of other POC. People can only come from their own point of view. We can at the very least try to understand, if we don’t already identify with, the same issues or other issues other POC have endured.
-And as it pertains to speaking for other POC and their hardships, I don’t expect Latin or Asian people to know any or all of the hardships of people of African and Indegenous culture nor should I, just as I can’t and don’t know all of their hardships and the way they experience their hardships. It’s not okay to expect that. It’s unnecessary to expect that. That’s not something we should have to identify with in the first place nor is it anything to be proud of to share such terrifying and horrible treatmemt.

4) The more melanin (aka the darker) your skin tone, the worse, more neglected, more unrepresented, and more ignored you are.
-And as it pertains to Indegenous Nations (of pre-America and pre-Australia as main, big examples), the worse your history is with white people invading your land the more hidden, ignored, and forgotten you are.

These are simple, verifiable facts. And as it stands, we each should be a part of and acknowledgement our own personal race/culture and embrace it, as well as be aware of and support our fellow POC who face the same and different forms of negativity. It takes knowing yourself and then coming together with others to move forward and better this life and this world.

I am of African American, Blackfoot Nation, and Cherokee Nation descent from both my mother and father, as well as Crèole and Irish descent. So I know very much about hardships and negativity towards people of color.

The truth is, our race and culture are a part of who we are, they do not define us, but they are huge parts of who we are as individuals. We could easily have been born any other race, no one chooses what race they will be, or what culture they’ll be born into either. But it is still something to be acknowleged and respected, because we are all people who are different, beautiful, special, and unique. So it’s not teaching kids and people to “not see color”, but it’s acknowledging and respecting another’s race and culture. That’s what this is about, acknowledging and knowing the hardships and negativity towards POC, learning from it so we can know how to be and do better and not go back to it, and moving forward. People also have to understand that this is a conversation that has to be had because it is our history as humanity. It is the truth of where we came from and the conditions that led to us being in the place we are right now. We need to finally acknowledge our history, know our history, deal with the conditions we’re in, and move forward.

Rise Up

Now, more than ever, we need to come together and stand as one people and speak as one voice for the sake of one another. This world has always been and will always be a dangerous and treacherous place. But that is not all that dwells here. Kindness, care, positivity, hope, faith, mindfulness, respect, celebration, diversity, goodness, light, and love dwell here too. And it is absolutely imperative that we go forth together, in, with, and of love. We must stand against senseless violence and hatred.

In the last month, 3 young men have been convicted of assulting a mentally disabled boy and face life in prison meanwhile a young man raped an unconscious woman and is tapped on the wrist with a 6 month sentence, a man murdered a woman after her performance doing what she loved, and another man massacred a group of people who were simply living their lives.

These kinds of injustice can not be tolerated any longer. We need to stand against and rise above fear, hatred, senseless violence, judgment, and cruelty. We have to do something. We have to care. We have to speak up and we have to love one another. There can no longer be an acceptable place for judgment and cruelty. Hold your loved ones close and live your life, breath by breath, with love. Let us rise up and hold hands as we walk through this life together.

Love and light to all the victims in Orlando and I continue to stand whole-heartedly with the LGBTQ community.

The Solution: Acknowledge, Accept, Love

There is cause and effect. A problem and a solution. We have an abundance of issues that need to be solved at all times, but we have a significant amount at this present time. And we seem to like focusing on the wrong things. We spend way too much time being upset about the situation and forgetting to do something about the situation. What we need to do is focus on the solution and enforce it. In this specific case, we need the solution to all of us coming together and making this world a better place.

Here is the solution: We start treating each other better, ackowledging, accepting, representing authentically, and above all, loving one another for who we are as people and living beings. We start showing kindess, care, and respect for one another. We start honoring each other. We start recognizing one another for whatever it is that an individual or group of individuals is succeeding greatly at no matter their race, culture, religion, sexuality, sexual orientation, age, or gender. Those things are a part of who we each are, but they do not define us. We’ve got to start thinking for ourselves, questioning things, and coming to our own conclusions with open hearts, open minds, and the willingness to work, help, and learn from and with one another. It is time to enter an Era of universal acknowledgement, acceptance, and love. We are all special and each have something amazing to give this world and we all deserve the chance to have every privilege and opportunity to live, experience, and enjoy everything this beautiful life and world has to offer; as well as what we each have to offer.

No matter what, we all deserve the best and can have it. It’s simply a matter of us coming together and making things better. Let those with their negativity, close-mindedness, small-mindedness, judgments, hatred, and limitations be left to their own devices. They will try to stop those of us who oppose them; we need not be afraid or falter. When we come together as one, we are mighty and we are victorious. They can not stop us. The thing that they can never ever take from us, the thing that they can never stop, is our love. That is exactly what we are giving and sharing, and how we are going to change the world for the better. So my friends, let us love. Love freely, love truly, love genuinely.
